Effective October 24, 2026 · rStashed extension and website

rStashed is a Reddit media downloader developed by Trinadh Thatakula. It stores your workspace locally in your browser and connects to Reddit and supported media hosts when you browse or download.

Data stored by the extension

The extension stores preferences, cached profile and subreddit post metadata, source and media URLs, and download queue/history records in browser storage and IndexedDB on your device. Post metadata can include public usernames, titles, subreddit names, timestamps, and media information. Downloaded files are saved through your browser; ZIP exports can include a manifest of the source links.

These local records and media are not sent to the developer or to a rStashed server. rStashed has no developer-operated extension backend, analytics, advertising, or separate account system.

Requests to Reddit and media hosts

Browsing sends requests to Reddit for the profile or subreddit you select. Requests may use the Reddit session already available in your browser. The extension does not ask you for your Reddit password, store it, or send your credentials to the developer.

Downloading and previewing media sends requests to supported hosts, including Reddit image/video services and direct Imgur media. Those services receive normal request information, such as your IP address, requested URL, and browser/network headers, and handle it under their own policies. rStashed does not bypass access restrictions or retrieve private messages.

Browser permissions

Access to Reddit lets rStashed browse listings, detect the current profile or subreddit, collect matching posts in an open tab, and add save controls to supported posts. Access to supported media hosts enables previews and downloads. activeTab supports opening the library from the current page; storage stores preferences and workspace records; downloads manages files and queue progress; and alarms supports persistent queue work.

Limited use of extension data

rStashed’s use and transfer of information received through the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Public usernames, Reddit post content, and source/page URLs are handled only to provide the browsing, selection, organization, and download features described here. Source/page URLs are limited to the Reddit context and media needed for those features; rStashed does not maintain a general browsing history.

Extension data is not sold, used for advertising, used for unrelated profiling, or used to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Requests to Reddit and supported media hosts are necessary to deliver the features you choose. The developer has no remote access to your local extension workspace; support correspondence is read only when you choose to send it for assistance.

Your control and retention

Local preferences, snapshots, and download records remain until you clear them or your browser removes extension storage. Use Preferences to clear local data; this cancels active queue jobs but does not delete files already saved. You can remove downloaded files using your computer’s file manager and uninstall the extension through your browser.

This website

The website does not use analytics, advertising, account registration, or tracking cookies. The web library form requests the public profile or subreddit you choose through a Vercel-hosted listing endpoint. That endpoint sends the target, page limit and pagination cursor to Reddit, without your Reddit cookies or login credentials. It requests a public JSON listing or, when JSON access is denied, the public RSS feed. It does not keep a listing database. Successful public-feed responses may be cached by Vercel for up to one minute to reduce requests to Reddit. Imported files are never uploaded or cached on the server. Normal hosting request logs may include the requested target and network information. Media previews and downloads connect directly from your browser to Reddit media services and supported Imgur media, which receive normal request information. Imported JSON is processed entirely in your browser and is not uploaded. The last parsed web library is stored in IndexedDB on your device until you clear the website library or your browser removes site data. Downloaded files remain until you delete them. Website and extension workspaces are separate. It is hosted on Vercel, which may process normal request and operational log information, including IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps, and browser headers, to deliver and protect the site. See Vercel’s privacy policy for its handling of hosting data.

Support email

If you email us, your address, message, and any attachments are used to answer your request and investigate the issue. Email providers process those messages as part of delivering and storing email. Send only information needed for support; avoid passwords, session cookies, or private content. You may request deletion of support correspondence by email, subject to applicable legal requirements.
