Firefox loading guide
01 / Chrome

Load the extracted folder.

  1. Download the Chrome ZIP above. Extract it into a folder you will keep, such as rStashed in Documents.
  2. Open Chrome and type chrome://extensions in the address bar.
  3. Turn on Developer mode, then click Load unpacked.
  4. Select the extracted folder that contains manifest.json. Choose the folder, rather than the ZIP or the manifest file.
  5. Pin rStashed from the browser’s Extensions menu. Open or refresh your Reddit tabs, then click the rStashed toolbar icon.

Keep the extracted folder in the same location. Chrome loads the extension from that folder and manual installations can remain installed across restarts.

02 / Firefox, Zen & Twilight

Load the ZIP temporarily.

  1. Download the Firefox ZIP above.
  2. Open your browser and type about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox in the address bar. If needed, select This Firefox.
  3. Click Load Temporary Add-on and select the downloaded Firefox ZIP. You can also extract the ZIP and select its manifest.json.
  4. Open or refresh your Reddit tabs, then click the rStashed toolbar icon. It may be inside the browser’s Extensions menu.

What happens after a restart?

The temporary add-on is removed when the browser restarts. Load the ZIP again to use it in the next session.

Permanent installation in standard Firefox requires a Mozilla-signed XPI, even when you download it from an independent website. For permanent installation, use the Firefox Add-ons listing . This website’s ZIP is unsigned and uses temporary loading. Zen and Twilight may apply their own installation rules; this guide uses the Firefox temporary-loading workflow.

03 / Make your first collection

Open Reddit. Pick your media.

  1. Visit a public profile such as u/nasa , or a subreddit such as r/space .
  2. Click rStashed on your toolbar. The profile or subreddit should fill in automatically.
  3. The default is 250 posts and Media only. Choose 0–1,000 posts, then browse. If Reddit denies listing access, load and scroll posts in the source tab and use Collect visible posts.
  4. Supported media starts selected. Deselect anything you do not want and download your selection. Files go into redditMedia/name/images/, videos/, or gifs/ inside your browser’s Downloads directory.

Reddit controls access and may return fewer posts. Some video files omit audio because separate tracks are not merged. ZIP exports support up to 50 unique items and 96 MiB; keep the library tab open during export.

These are desktop packages. Android and Safari downloads are not offered. More help

Updating & removing.

Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons installations receive updates through their stores. Website ZIP installations do not update automatically; check this page for a newer version.

Chrome: extract a newer Chrome ZIP into the same extension folder, replacing the old files, then click Reload on rStashed at chrome://extensions. Refresh open Reddit tabs. Remove the extension through that same page when you no longer want it.

Firefox, Zen and Twilight: remove the temporary add-on in about:debugging, then load the newer Firefox ZIP. You can also restart the browser and load the new package.

Let active downloads and ZIP exports finish before reloading or removing the extension. Store and manual installations may have separate local workspaces. Removing the extension does not delete files already saved on your computer.

Current direct release: 0.1.0. Both ZIPs contain the rStashed extension files, ready to load using the guides above.
