# rStashed

> A web media library and desktop browser extension for browsing accessible Reddit profiles and subreddits and saving selected media locally.

rStashed supports Chrome/Chromium and desktop Firefox 140+ with compatible Firefox-based browsers including Zen and Twilight. It is an independent project, not affiliated with Reddit.

## Web library
- [Open the web library](https://rstashed.vercel.app/app): Public profile/subreddit browsing, local Reddit JSON import, media filters and selection, individual file saves, and organized ZIP export. Defaults: 250 posts and Media only; all supported media starts selected.

The website requests public listings through a Vercel endpoint without Reddit login credentials. When Reddit denies JSON access, the website automatically tries its publicly accessible RSS feed, then paginates the feed. Feed results may omit video files or gallery items. Reddit may deny or rate-limit either format. Feed pages are paced and successful public-feed responses can be cached for one minute to reduce repeated requests. Imported JSON and the parsed library remain in the browser. Media downloads connect directly to supported hosts and depend on browser cross-origin access. ZIP exports support 50 unique items and 96 MiB; Chromium can also save structured folders with the user choosing a directory. Website downloads require the tab to remain open and do not automatically resume. The website cannot inspect Reddit tabs or add download controls to Reddit.

Permanent installation in standard Firefox requires Mozilla signing, including self-distributed extensions. Direct website downloads are available independently of store listing availability. Manual ZIP installations do not provide an automatic update mechanism. Android and Safari downloads are not offered.
